Today’s Thought 01/15/2007
- Psalms 63:8 KJV
- My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
How often do we really seek the face of God? I mean really sought His face…Not for what He can do for us or what we can gain from Him but just because He is God. What would happen if we gather together for no other purpose but to seek His face? What would happen if the presence of the Lord appeared in such a way that no one in the room could stand in His presence? These are questions that beckon to be answered by the people who are called Christian. Could it be that there would be a change in our lives such that nothing matters except pleasing Him? Could the end result be a life that is so radically changed that there would be nothing left to “backslide” onto? Could it be that there would be such a permanent change in our lives that we would realize that heaven wants to get to us as much as we want to get to it?
Do we really follow hard after God or is it just lip service to make ourselves “feel” saved? Why not challenge the norm and choose to follow hard after God. Why not seek Him with such passionate fervor that every ounce of our being is transformed and renewed? Why not scrap every program made by man and seek the Creator of the universe…The One that holds every facet of life in His mighty grip.
Surely, if we did these things, He would show up and we would be changed…Families would be changed…Societies would be transformed…History would be altered. If the Lord asks who will go, can we answer ”here am I send me” or has our hearing become so dull that we think His voice is but thunder?
