Credit Card Christianity –
A credit card allows for instant gratification and satisfaction. It only delays the inevitable; a payment.
Many like to equate their relationship with the Lord like a credit card. They like to hold the card up and say “the only place this card is accepted is Heaven.” They charge their life on the card and continue to live no differently than they did before they were “saved”. It’s inevitable; one day the payment is due but they can’t pay it…They give up on Jesus and say that “He let them down.” They’ve lived their life like they wanted and expected Jesus to bail them out of their sin ravaged life without consequence. When He doesn’t do it like they want Him to, they walk away.
The cost is too high…Oh they may not be bad people or murderous, just wrapped up in sin…
But the cost is too high, they can’t seem to give up everything; after all, they’d be bankrupt. They’ve become so deaf to the things of God that they think all roads lead to God…Simply not so.
To follow Christ and be a disciple takes discipline and sacrifice…”whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:33 NKJV)
It’s time to forget some things and follow the only road that leads to life. His name is Jesus.
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT
13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. 14 But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.

Jesus is that narrow gate!
Qouting a favorite pastor, “If you are believing right you will be living right”
Stephen,
I pray that my behavior will never keep me out of heaven. It is His righteuosness alone that enables me. Jesus still has allot of work to do with me. I have a daily and hourly need for His Grace.
I am so awesomely blessed!
Steve
